How Cable Type And Pre-Shredding Affect Copper Granulator Capacity

Long, bulky or tangled cables can be difficult to feed steadily, reducing the amount a granulator processes during the day. Cables with plugs or steel components may also need preparation or suitable magnetic separation.

A pre-shredder cuts these cables into shorter pieces before they enter the main crusher, helping maintain a more even feed. Consider it when cable size or tangling slows the line speed down; it may be unnecessary when your cables already feed and process efficiently.

BS-N130: N125-Based Line With Pre-Shredding

Approximate capacity: 400–700 kg/h. BS-N130 combines an N125-based granulator with a pre-shredder and conveyors. It is an option for recyclers handling around 3–5 tonnes per day who need pre-shredding as part of a complete line.

BS-D600: BS-D60 With A Pre-Shredder

Approximate capacity with pre-shredding: 400–600 kg/h. BS-D600 combines the BS-D60 granulator with a dual-shaft pre-shredder to improve feeding.

This configuration is worth considering for a daily target of around 3–5 tonnes when long or tangled cables are difficult to feed directly. It is a more affordable option than BS-N130.

BS-A1100: A Larger Line For Future Growth

Approximate capacity: 1.2–1.5 t/h. BS-A1100 is a heavy-duty option for recyclers planning to expand beyond 3–5 tonnes per day. It can be configured with a single-shaft pre-shredder to prepare bulky cable feed.

Consider this model if you expect a substantial increase in daily volume and have the space and budget for a larger line.

Choosing The Right Setup For Your Daily Target

For around 3 tonnes per day, start by considering BS-D60 or BS-N125. For around 3–5 tonnes with material that needs pre-shredding, consider BS-N130 or BS-D600.
