132KW + 320KW Automotive Scrap Crushing Line: Higher Throughput for a French Scrap Yard

A French scrap recycler selected our 132kw vertical crusher and 320kw heavy-duty hammer mill to increase his processing capacity for automotive scrap.

The dual crushing line processes a wide range of scrap materials, including vehicle body shells, engines, tires, scrap motors and aluminum profiles. #1800 vertical crusher first breaks bulky scrap into smaller pieces, then the material enters BS-H1600 hammer mill for further crushing and size reduction, producing more consistent final products for subsequent separation.

01 / Customer’s Challenge

Existing Shredder Struggled with Large, Bulky Vehicle Scrap

Maksim operates a scrap recycling yard in France, handling various types of vehicle scrap. As the amount of scrap increased, their existing dual-shaft shredder machine struggled to handle large, bulky materials and keep up with daily processing needs. They needed a more powerful shredder to handle these materials efficiently.

Mixed Automotive Scrap

Material includes car shells, engine components, scrap metals, stators, rotors and aluminum profiles. With materials varying greatly in size, shape and density, the needed recycling line must be capable of handling different types of vehicle scrap reliably.

Bottleneck

Slow Processing and Coarse Output

The existing dual-shaft shredder was not powerful enough to handle some of the tougher materials. Some could damage the machine if processed, while others came out in pieces that were still too large and needed to be shredded again. This slowed down the recycling process and limited daily output.

More Efficient Size Reduction for Downstream Separation

Maksim needed a more powerful shredding system that could handle tough, bulky automotive scrap without damaging the equipment. The goal was to process more material in less time, produce smaller, more consistent pieces, and avoid repeated shredding.

02 / Proposed Line

#1800 Vertical Crusher + BS-H1600 Heavy-Duty Hammer Mill

Maksim already knew a standard shredder would not be enough for his material. After seeing our YouTube video, he recognized the processing setup as exactly what he needed.

After reviewing his scrap and capacity requirements, we recommended BS-H1600 heavy-duty hammer mill, combined with a customized 132 kw vertical crusher for pre-crushing. The dual crushing system’s processing capacity can reach up to approximately 5–6 t/h.

Stage 01 / Coarse Crushing

#1800 Vertical Crusher

#1800 vertical crusher pre-shreds Maksim’s automotive scrap into more manageable pieces for the next crushing stage. A vibrating discharge feeder controls the material flow, while conveyor feeds it steadily into 320kw heavy-duty hammer mill.

BS-H1600 Heavy-Duty Hammer Mill

BS-H1600 heavy-duty hammer mill reduces pre-crushed metal pieces into smaller, more uniform pieces. The replaceable screen controls final discharge size, helping prepare materials for the next separation stage.

03 / From Order to Operation

From Equipment Confirmation to Successful Commissioning

For his car parts and metal recycling line, Maksim selected #1800 vertical crusher and a BS-H1600 320 kW hammer mill. After confirming the key technical details and visiting our factory, he moved forward with the order with confidence. The complete line was then produced, tested, delivered, and successfully commissioned.

Machine Configuration Confirmation

After choosing #1800 vertical crusher + BS-H1600 320 kW hammer mill, Maksim still needed to confirm several important details before production:

22 high-manganese steel hammer heads for durable crushing performance
Optimized screen openings to control the final discharge size
Drum magnetic separator for removing iron from the processed material
Voltage, machine layout, and installation requirements

Our team confirmed each detail with Maksim and customized the dual crushing line according to his processing requirements and site conditions. After the final configuration was approved, he placed the order.

Factory Visit & Production Inspection

During production, Maksim visited BSGH Granulator factory to inspect his machines in person.

He was able to check the equipment structure, materials, manufacturing progress, and key components against the confirmed order specifications. All are same with contract, giving Maskin more confidence.

Reliable Support from Production to Commissioning

Our team provided factory reception, transparent production updates, machine testing videos, pre-shipment inspection, secure delivery, and installation guidance.

After the equipment arrived at site, we continued to support the installation and commissioning process until his crushing line was running properly and ready for production.

04 / The Result

After the upgraded crushing line was put into operation, Maksim was pleased with both the equipment performance and cooperation with BSGH Granulator. The higher processing capacity helped him handle accumulated scrap more efficiently, while the dual-stage crushing system produced smaller and more manageable output for the following separation process.

Reaching Up to 5 T/H Processing Capacity
